Victor Haskins & Moving Sound Pictures
Moving Sound Pictures is an innovative solo project where Victor Haskins creates live-produced, spontaneously composed, epic music. Moving Sound Pictures utilizes cornet, voice, Electronic Wind Instrument (EWI), synths, live sampling, and virtuosic improvisation to transcend genre in order to present a supremely unique and wondrous experience of live orchestration and music production through the lens of storytelling. Every performance involves a genius synthesis of elements from a myriad of different and seemingly disparate musical and cultural traditions, including (and definitely not limited to) African, Arabic, Indian, Hip Hop, Latin, Funk, European classical, Soul, Abstract, Electronica, Rock, and Blues. It's like Victor is creating the most detailed, peculiar cinematic movie scores right before the ears and eyes of concertgoers, never to be heard again in the same way, and specifically tailored to the energy of the audience at hand (making Moving Sound Pictures equally poised to completely engage young children, more experienced music lovers, or a mixture of varying degrees of those demographics). Between tunes (if appropriate and desired for the situation), Victor converses with the audience to offer insights into his own personal life experiences and thoughts, and the elements that are interwoven into the music, making each Moving Sound Pictures event an intimate, emotional, and unforgettable experience.
In addition (and if so desired), Victor is able to collaborate with a world-class Dancer who also improvises all of their movements to the music Victor creates, telling a visual story that perfectly compliments the musical story. The versatility and completeness of the Moving Sound Pictures project allows for seamless integration and interaction with the Dancer, which creates a conversation between the two master improvisers; Victor’s audio improvisation influences the Dancer’s kinetic improvisation, and vice versa. This added visual element transforms and enhances the experience for concertgoers, and has the potential to become interactive by inviting audience participation (depending on available space and other factors).

Victor Haskins' Skein
A “skein" has two definitions:
1) a tangled or complicated arrangement, state, or situation.
2) a flock of wild geese or swans in flight, typically in a V-shaped formation.
The members of Victor Haskins’ Skein bring these definitions to life through the highly interactive interplay in which they engage with each other, clearly exhibiting a dynamic chemistry that concertgoers will immediately recognize and feel. This ensemble combines enigmatic improvisational prowess with compositions handcrafted by Victor for the specific personalities of the group, resulting in an explosive and captivating experience for audience members. The repertoire of this ensemble spans a wide range of fascinating and entertaining sonic territory—infectious rhythms, catchy melodies, and elements of cultures and traditions from around the world lace each tune the Skein plays. No musical stone is left unturned as the intensity, passion, and honesty of the group is displayed fervently with each passing moment. And although most of the group’s musical offerings consist of original material, the audience will feel right at home getting acquainted with these vivid and peculiar sounds. If the purpose of life is to gather and harness new experiences, then Victor Haskins’ Skein is perfectly poised to pleasantly permeate the hearts, minds, and souls of all whose ears remain functional and open.
